The primary reason for our visit to Rome on this trip was to attend the Papal Audience. This is a public gathering where the Pope meets pilgrims and visitors from around the world at St. Peter’s Square to share teachings, lead prayers, and impart an Apostolic Blessing.

4:30 AM – Our day began early as we wanted to be in line by 7:00 AM. Although we already had tickets, we decided not to bother picking them up to save time. As it turned out, most people in line didn’t have tickets either.

8:00 AM – After going through security checks, we made our way inside and looked for the best seats we could find!

9:00 AM – The place was beginning to fill up as more and more people arrived.

9:30 AM – And so, we waited!

Just like everyone else.

10:00 AM – Finally, there he was! Pope Leo XIV on the Popemobile!

11:30 AM – And just like that, it was over!

This was truly worth it! Despite the early start, the rain, a bit of hunger, the confusion over the lineups, and all those hours of waiting, we were so glad we did this. Being there in person, sharing the experience with thousands of others, and seeing Pope Leo XIV up close made it all worthwhile. It was an experience we will always remember!
