With the Papal Audience done, it was now time to visit the Vatican Museums — another bucket list item!
The place was packed, with entry schedules strictly checked by security and staff. We had booked a guided tour, and our guide was very knowledgeable. However, with so many people in the museums that day, there was simply no way to truly immerse ourselves in the art. I was a bit disappointed, but I had to accept that this was just how it goes.
Still, I was happy to see some of the Vatican Museums’ famous treasures — Raphael’s works, the tapestries, the Gallery of Maps, and, of course, the Sistine Chapel.

By the end of the visit, I found myself thinking that perhaps the best way to appreciate these masterpieces would be to get a book about the famous works of art at the Vatican Museums. There was just so much to see, and I wanted to take it all in at my own pace.
