It is spring!!! Time to get out from winter hibernation. Checking out the Winter Stations at the Toronto Beaches was one good reason to be out.

Winter  Stations – temporary art installations at the Beaches (installed on/around lifeguard chairs) to celebrate Toronto’s winter waterfront landscape.  These installations were selected from an open international competition and is on its 4th year. Some of the ones we saw this year.

Wind Station – takes the shape of a nuclear colling tower outfitted with hundreds of tiny pin-wheels.

Obstacle – provides a metaphor for collective action in overcoming global issues.

Rising Up – inspired by the topography of Toronto’s Don Valley and symbolizes nature’s uprising against increased urbanization.

Pussy Hut – a polarizing knitted hat associated with the 2017 Women’s March.

Make Some Noise – an oversized noise box.

Nest – a colorful web that explores ideas of comfort within a system of disorder.

Was so blessed with nice sunny weather in this outing with a good friend. A day off well spent.
