The purpose of art is washing the dust of our daily lives off our souls.” – Pablo Picasso

We had plenty of snow the previous night – but still we went to the Sculpture Forest at the Haliburton School of the Arts. We needed some dusting of art too. The Haliburton Sculpture Forest is a unique outdoor collection of sculptures by Canadian and international artists.

Some of the sculptures we saw on this snowy yet enjoyable walking day.

Fire and Ice : A Really Big Shoe by Charles O’Neil.

Evolution by Don Dickson and Amy Doolittle. (Red Chair)

Visionary: A Tribute to Sir Sandford Fleming. Latitude and Longitude. (Model not provided by the Sculpture Forest)

Kennisis: Horse and Rider by William Lishman

A Walk in the Woods by Mary Ellen Farrows. Sexy Yo!

Current by Peter Wehrspann. Sexy Yellow Chair.

Atmo-Sphere by John McKinnon. Some sculptures need models too.
