Part 2 of our Cambridge murals with Stroll Walking Tours.

This must-see mural in Cambridge is on the historic 113 year old building that once housed the Getty & Scott Shoe Company. Located at 20 Park Hill Road the 5 storey edifice is being revitalized by the new investors but gives ode to the original owners by naming it “The Classic Shoe Building”. Adding icing to the cake is the work of Lester Coloma (Filipino-Canadian, wink*wink* is my pride showing?) on its walls. Using mostly black and red on white background, the mural is truly unique and eye-catching.

Not the best capture of a WD (Wild Drawing) mural but still it shows the photo realistic style he is known for. You have to look twice and then realize – no, there are no curves, just your eyes playing tricks on you.

The Canada 150 mural, with painted visions of Galt’s Indigenous past and digital library future, stretching 50 feet wide and reach 12 feet tall on Ainslie Street.

Then the irresistible Galt Wings by husband and wife duo Pellvetica. These are no ordinary wings as they are based on the anatomy and feather placement of real Canada goose. Yes, the common goose we see daily. And the background is no ordinary garden either. The artists took inspiration from Galt’s local gardens within 1000 meters radius. So much love was poured to this mural no wonder everyone loves it back.
