We have passed by the community of Clifford in the town of Minto a few times, but have not really stopped to check the place. This time, we made the place our destination. With a population of less than 1000 in 2021, we were not expecting much. But we were surprised!

Clifford started a public art project called “These Booths Are Made for Talking“. Six local artists added their art and craftwork to a three-dimensional metal telephone booth-like structure to create unique works of art. The project is actually a salute to Clifford’s telecommunication history.

These booths are lined along Clifford’s main street and will be on display every year from May to October.

Palmerston, Clifford, Harriston and Minto Township were amalgamated in 1999 to create Minto. While Clifford has “These Booths Are Made For Talking”, Palmerston has “Trendy Trains“, and Harriston has “Cool Cones“.
