Dear Alberta,
Falling for you was not instantaneous. The Rockies, the frozen lakes and the almost identical mountains did not impress us at first sight. But slowly, you got us with your beautiful snow capped mountains; the slippery trails that took us to sights unimaginable, wildlife that freely roam and countless viewpoints that just made us breathless.
Going through winter, spring & summer in a span of 3 hours while cruising the Icefields Parkway, is now an experience etched in our travel books. Finally the lakes thawed and iconic mountain reflections on your turquoise waters took our hearts away.
But Banff does not define you Alberta. We found there is more to you than the Rockies. The seemingly limitless plain fields bored and intrigued me at the same time. The unusual geological formations held us in awe. The beauty of Calgary and Edmonton and the reconnection with friends are the sweet icing to this trip. We are happy to have known/seen you Alberta. It was definitely a blast!
Muchas gracias to our “trip advisor” for being with us from planning to implementation. For tips, inside info and everything else that we cannot fit in our luggage. Muchas gracias to our hosts for 5-star bed, breakfast to dinner accommodation in Edmonton. Thank you WorldMark Canmore-Banff for being our temporary home and to Thrifty Rentals for the dependable ride that took us around this beautiful province (3,154 kms total driven).
Two weeks went so fast, Alberta, the #2laagans miss you already!!
