We have been wanting to try the the Seaton Hiking Trail as it is just at nearby Pickering. We finally did it after a relaxing afternoon at Darlington Provincial Park.
The Seaton Hiking Trail is said to be 12 kms one-way (not a loop) and has 4 access points with ample parking area. We started our walk from the Highway 7 entrance. Grass was covering the trail in the earlier part but the pretty wildflowers made up for it.
The path followed a creek and had varying types of trees around.
There were wooden boardwalks in some places, a lot of which needed some love and repair.
We did not have lots of time for this hike but managed to walk for 40 minutes and reached this area.
Then we headed back to the parking lot. It was a good enough 80 minute walk – goal for the day attained. For anyone taking this trail, I recommend to wear full leg coverings as some paths are filled with grass and shrubs.
