Omemee is a community within the city of Kawartha Lakes and is just an hour’s drive from home base. Our visit to Omemee is one of those unplanned trips that turned out fascinating.
First we found the Windy Ridge Trail. We ventured trail at the height of noon knowing it was only 1.2 kilometers. The fun part started when we realized this was an uphill walk with the scorching sun and no trees for shade. We were however rewarded with a gorgeous view at the top of a hill.
It was a fun one, despite gasping for breath and feeling the heat.
We thought that was enough excitement for the day. Driving to Omemee’s main street, what a surprise to see the Neil Young’s mural at the Coronation Hall. Of course, we had to stop and take a photo!
Some days, we just never know what we’re gonna get.
