Just to make it clear, it used to be a windmill, but here now stands a lighthouse. There is history to this beautiful edifice that stands overlooking the Lawrence River.

Battle of the Windmill National Historic Site marks the site of the November 1838 Battle of the Windmill, fought around a grist windmill near PrescottOntario, Canada. In 1873,the original grist windmill was converted into a lighthouse by the Canadian Department of Marine. The lighthouse became known as Windmill Point Light and was operating until 1978. The place can unfortunately be easily overlooked by anyone visiting the Prescott/Cornwall area as it is not very well known. We were just happy we found it by chance. Below are photos of the surrounding area.
