Ontario is officially on lockdown and state of medical emergency as of March 17, 2020. Schools are closed and only essential business will remain open. I decided to start this “Stay-At-Home” diary for the record, for the time when all of this will be over.
March 11 – The last time I was in my official office in downtown, Toronto. The next day was my scheduled work from home. I continued working from from home on Friday. I was already unwilling to take public transportation to work.
March 13 – Late in the day memo from employer stating that by next week everyone who can work from home will start doing so until April 3.
March 16 – Week 1. My husband and I decided we are sharing the small room as our office. This was his 2nd full week of working from home. NOTE: Call it insightful or intuitive, but a month ago we re-organized this small room. Carpet and wallpaper was removed, wall was repainted, wood parquet floor was exposed. It was grueling 3 day job. Never did we foresee that this mini room renovation would pay off in the next few weeks.
OUR Office – Week 1
Wasn’t it just last Sunday we were at Tyrone Mills, enjoying the weather and the coffee. How long will this last?
