I once thought mansions only existed in movies, until I set my foot on the Gilded Age Mansions in Newport, Rhode Island. A must see for architecture buffs, history lovers and for ordinary people like me – a must visit to feel awed, amazed, astounded. These photos were from the 4 mansions (The Breakers, The Marble House, The Rosecliff and The Elm) seen in 1 day. It was a mind boggling and jaw dropping experience. I apologize for the absence of detailed descriptions. There was too just too much to see and take in.

This is just the gate of the Breakers Mansion.
Let’s just say this post is brought to you by the word GRANDIOSE.

Even ceilings were  not left untouched.

Pictures will never do justice to any of the Gilded Age Mansions. These architectural attractions have to be experienced first hand to be appreciated. If given the chance, I would come back and savor each mansion longer.
