Providence is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. state of Rhode Island and is one of the oldest cities in the United States. In paper, Providence seemed interesting being home to universities and colleges including Brown University, an Ivy League university; historical buildings and an urban scape like any major city. But it was kind of a downer for us. It seemed not to be very tourist friendly place with the difficulty to drive around and no parking on most places. We stayed for almost a day but decided we may not be back.
The Cathedral of St. John – Episcopal at Main St. Providence with its Gothic Revival architecture.
Walking around the famous Benefit Hill.
The downtown area.
Rhode Island Capitol building
The Water Place Park
Skating rink fronting the City Hall. So much like Toronto.
Some artworks we found.
Then it was goodbye, Providence.
