Whenever we go to Collingwood, we always drive 30 minutes further north to the small town of Thornbury. It is an all season place with a marina, a pretty main street, restaurants with good food and galleries.

On this visit, the first thing that caught our eye was the Blue Mountain Canada 150 mosaic mural. This must be newly installed as we did not see this the last time we were here.   Then we drove around stopping once in a while to enjoy the harbour scenery.

Scenes that remind us of the words of George Gordon Byron

“There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar:
I love not man the less, but Nature more,
From these our interviews, in which I steal
From all I may be, or have been before,
To mingle with the Universe, and feel
What I can ne’er express, yet cannot all conceal”
