There was nothing scheduled for this day but we had 3,039 sq. kms of area to have fun with.

First stop was the historic Bartlett Covered Bridge, which spans the Saco River and was built in 1850.  The bridge is 183 feet long with single span,  paddleford type construction. The bridge is no longer used for vehicular or pedestrian traffic but is now a gift shop.

Driving along after Bartlett we saw noticed this pretty river and a steel bridge at Harts Location.

Next stop is the scenic view at the Wiley House.

Passing by the upscale Mt. Washington Hotel at Bretton Woods we could not resist the urge to turn and see this majestic hotel up close. This Spanish Renaissance hotel is not only historic (opened in 1902) but is also strategically located facing the colorful mountains in all angles.

We proceeded to Littleton (30 minutes from Bretton Woods) in search for another covered bridge but first had a good fill at the famous Littleton Diner. A must stop place for good homemade food. Posing outside the diner.

The Riverwalk covered bridge was there but an added bonus to Littleton were the artsy umbrellas up the stairs back to Main Street.

From Littleton, we took Hiway 93 to Franconia then to Lincoln. The best scenery though was when we took the 35 miles of Kancamagus Hiway (Hwy 112) from Lincoln back to North Conway. A truly beautiful drive that our camera could just not capture.

Time flies so fast when you are having fun.
