‘Hai-hai’ (thank you in Cree Aboriginal dialect) for letting us watch them as they celebrate another PowWow. We often go for the dance and the colorful costumes – but today we give respect for people who continue to uphold their tradition, culture, heritage and belief.
Pow Wows are the Native American people’s way of meeting together, to join in dancing, singing, visiting, renewing old friendships, and making new ones. This is a time method to renew Native American culture and preserve the rich heritage of American Indians. (Source: Internet)
It is an event filled with colours and celebrated with merriment. The beautiful dresses and costumes add sparkle to the native pageantry.
