Antigonish, Nova Scotia is a Scottish Gaelic town around 2 hours away from Halifax and the perfect place to take a break while driving from Cape Breton. A few things are of interest in Antigonish, first parking at the downtown area was so cheap – $1 for 2 hours!!
Then it is home to one of Canada’s prestigious universities – the St. Francis Xavier University
Just one of the several churches we passed by.
One thing we did not know about Antigonish was it was a town filled with street art. Almost in every corner there was some artwork.
The best thing about Antigonish though was its friendly people. This lady started talking to me while I was taking photos. She said Antigonish is the one of the best places to retire. She was a retired teacher and she related the town’s history, best places to eat, her Filipino sister-in-law. She even obliged to have a photo with me.
