Lilacs are a specie of flowering plants in the olive family, native to the Balkan Peninsula, where it grows on rocky hills (Wikipedia)

The town on Warkworth, Ontario holds a month long Lilac festival in the of May. We tried to squeeze in a quick visit and enjoyed the varieties of lilacs  found in the Millennium Lilac trail which was an easy 30 mins to an hour walk.

Warkworth is around 90 minutes from Toronto and during the Festival a lot of activities are scheduled. Something to look forward next year. Click here for more about the festival.
