In our recent 3 day short trip to Brockville, we took a quick rest stop at Brighton, Ontario. While the driver got a few minutes of nap, I walked around the main street and found interesting street art.

This big mural could be in honor of Mark Kellogg, a journalist born in Brighton who was considered the first Associated Press correspondent to die in line of duty.
Brighton’s Community Mural – for Canada 150’s celebration. Showing Brighton’s pride – the lighthouse, apples, the railway museum, the park boardwalk and a historical building.
Lovely mural as a reminder that Brighton is apple country and celebrates its annual AppleFest over the last full weekend of September.

It was a well spent hour at Brighton, Ontario. If you have a day to spend in Brighton, highly recommended is Presquil’e Provincial Park with picnic areas along the coast, a boardwalk and a lighthouse. For more suggestions on what to do in Brighton, click here.
