The village of Merrickville (and neighboring areas) are not only known for its local arts and crafts but also for the Rideau Canal Locks. A lock is a device used for raising and lowering boats, ships and other watercarft between stretches of water of different levels on river and canal waterways.
We spent a day checking out a few of the locks.
