One of the five museums we got access to at the Springfield Museums with our single admission fee is the George Walter Vincent Smith Art Museum.

This art museum holds a large collection of American 19th century paintings, Italian 19th century watercolors, a rare plaster cast collection, Japanese arms and armor collection, tiffany stained glass collection and a Hasbro Games Art Discovery Centre.

Personally, I wanted to stay longer but we were pressed for time to see the other museums. We still enjoyed the beautiful collection here.

Cast from the original marble work of Michelangelo – Twilight, Thinker and Dawn.

Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter by Angelo and Francesco Marinali made of Istrian marble found only at the coast of Venice mainland.

From the modern art collection.

Hunter’s Cabin Door – Richard La Barre Goodwin. Notice how the artist painted the 3 sides to look like a door frame.

Historical Monument of The American Republic by Erastus Salisbury Field.

Young Woman Sleeping by Rembrandt van Rijn, Dutch painter.

Samson and Delilah  by Valerio Castello, Italian.
