We the #2laagans are firm believers of the adage “Travelling gives one a new perspective, and makes you meet great people along the way.”

Just a list of the many wonderful encounters we had with strangers in our 15 day road trip from Collingwood, Ontario to Clarkesville, Georgia.

  • Couple at Tallulah Falls who hiked all the way up the hill without a map. They had no idea where they are going. I have them my extra map.
  • Couple at Toccoa Falls with their 2 grandkids. We had fun talking with them about grandkids – even though we don’t have any yet.

Brothers from Evergreen Lodge.

Group of bikers at Tallulah Point. One even noticed we were from Ontario and started talking about being at Port Dover one Friday the 13th.

  • Dory at Kentucky Arts and Craft Center (on our way to Clarkesville). The husband was American, was born in Manila, raised in Taiwan. So funny, she said she wants to visit the Philippines – before China takes over!
  • Man with the tractor/grass cutter in the middle of nowhere who we asked for directions to find Flimsy Fern Falls.
  • Storekeeper and store owner of Old Sautee Store.
  • Couple at Doyle covered bridge who are not tourists but lived nearby and was looking for their cat “Tsobi” who seldom roam the covered bridge.
  • The old man at Kentucky Arts & Craft Center (on our way back home) whose ice cream and chocolate I paid for.
