One week in the New England area (stayed in Massachusetts) – 5 covered bridges crossed and photographed.
Boonville Covered Bridge – the recently constructed covered bridge in the New York state built in 2005.
The bridge crosses the Erie Canal Feeder at Erwin Park, Oneida County.
Bulls Covered Bridge, Connecticut. The original bridge was built in 1760, while this current one was constructed in 1842. A difficult bridge to take a photo as the bridge and the roads on each side were narrow. No parking anywhere near.
The bridge crosses the Housatonic River in the town of Kent, Connecticut.
Jamaica Covered Bridge – we chanced upon between Wilmington and Londonderry, Vermont. Here we met a lovely road tripping couple from Florida who was experiencing fall in New England for the first time.
Bissell Covered Bridge in Charlemont, Massachusetts. We stayed a while in this bridge as we met the person who was in charge of the nearby town community centre chatting about the town’s history and of the bridge too. (October 18, 2019)
Conway Covered Bridge, Massachusetts. A quick stop, not only was it getting late there was no proper parking area around the bridge. But still not missed. (October 18, 2019)
For the twosome wanderers, no road trip in New England will ever be complete without covered bridges.
