As mentioned in part 1 – Sussex, NB is the mural capital of Atlantic Canada with 27 huge murals depicting local history scattered around the town’s major streets. We got a map for $2 from the information centre which goes towards the maintenance of the murals. After viewing most of the murals I can say the money is put into good use. The murals are very well maintained and are of good quality.

Sussex, The Dairy Town – Artist : Fred Harrison, Sussex, NB

Sussex Vale Exhibition Building – Artist : Ken White, UK

The Snappy Fire Department of the Maritimes – Artist : Michael O’Connor, Thunder Bay, ON

The Knoll – Centre of Social Life in Sussex – Artist : Peter Bresnen, Halifax, NS

The Agricultural Fair – Artist : Ruoulf Stussi, Toronto

First Nations: Wolastokqiyik (Maliseet), Artist : Charles Johnston, Manitoba

Sussex Vale in the 1850s – Artist : Carol Poppenga, Lewiston, MT

Sussex’s First Skating Rink – Artist : Rudolf Stussi, Toronto, Ontario

Hockey – A Rural Religion – Artist : Pierre Hardy, Barrie, ON

This is not one of the 27 murals, but this hardware store caught on and has its own artwork done and displayed. Very commendable.
